Are you All Heart for Kirkwood?

With Valentine’s Day fast approaching, Kirkwood Hospice is looking for big-hearted businesses and local supporters to join them at a brand-new fundraising lunch, to raise funds for people affected by chronic heart failure.

On Friday, 15 February, the hospice is set to host the All Heart for Kirkwood lunch, and it is inviting companies from the local area to join them for an afternoon of entertainment, fundraising activities and a three-course lunch.

The event will help to raise vital funds for Kirkwood’s ‘Braveheart’ service, which supports people affected by chronic heart failure. The hospice runs regular sessions – which have helped hundreds of people since 2012 – to help those diagnosed with the disease to live an independent life; teaching them coping strategies and helping them to live the best quality of life possible.

Often described as angels due to the love and care they give to patients and families, Kirkwood’s team of nurses and healthcare professionals supported over 100 local people last year. That number grows year on year, and Kirkwood’s aim is to offer help to everyone who needs support, every step of the way.

Organisers hope that the All Heart event will raise the £13,000 it costs to support services at Kirkwood, such as Braveheart.

Kirkwood’s Kate Leadbeater is passionate about the difference Braveheart makes to people with heart failure and is looking forward to welcoming guests to the All Heart event.

She said: “Supporting people to maintain their quality of life and to make the most of the time they have left is at the very heart of the Braveheart programme.

“All Heart for Kirkwood is a great opportunity for local businesses to show that they share our passion about delivering the best possible care for local people.

“It’s also a great way for them to kick start the new year by hosting a table and inviting clients to what is shaping up to be a brilliant afternoon in support of a great cause.

“With lots of like-minded businesses set to attend it’s sure to be a great networking event too.”

Tickets are now on sale for the event, priced at £45 each.

Tables of eight and ten are available or tickets can be purchased individually.
